In Tomita Isshiki Town, Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, with a view of Ise Bay, our founder “Ujuro Higuchi” started making Tsukudani using seafood from Ise Bay in 1921. This was the moment Yamadai Foods’ history began. Later, the second generation “Mamoru Higuchi” started the commercial production of side dishes, traditionally made at home, ahead of others. Furthermore, the third generation, “Masahiko Higuchi,” then began the distribution of these side dishes in frozen form. At that time, the concept of freezing was not widely embraced.
Reflecting on it now, it seems that we have always swiftly adapted to changes in society and the times. This journey was also about creating the “happiness” we envision within society.
